Acme Development Organization is launching an Ecosystem Restoration Initiative aimed at revitalising degraded landscapes, restoring biodiversity, and empowering communities to lead sustainable change. We’re looking for a dedicated Community Liaison Officer to champion local engagement and ensure that community voices influence every step of this journey.
About the Project
This initiative focuses on restoring forests, wetlands, grasslands, and other vital ecosystems through science-based methods and inclusive community participation. Our goal is to create resilient landscapes that support both people and nature.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary link between the project team and local communities
- Organise and facilitate community consultations, workshops, and awareness campaigns
- Gather and relay community feedback to inform project decisions
- Promote local stewardship and integrate traditional ecological knowledge
- Build partnerships with local leaders, institutions, and stakeholders
- Maintain records of community engagement activities and outcomes
Qualifications
- Degree in Community Development, Social Science, or related field
- At least 3 years of experience in community engagement or liaison roles
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
- Fluency in local languages and cultural competence
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Passion for environmental restoration and community empowerment

Early Childhood Mental Health and Psychosocial Support
Job Opportunity: Early Childhood MHPSS Officer

Role Overview
Acme is seeking a passionate and experienced Early Childhood Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Officer to lead the design and implementation of a MHPSS and Social Emotional Learning interventions for children aged 0-3 years. The officer will work closely with caregivers, educators, and community stakeholders to ensure safe, nurturing, and stimulating environments for early childhood development.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver age-appropriate MHPSS and SEL activities
- Train and mentor community facilitators, caregivers, and educators on child wellbeing and psychosocial support
- Conduct regular assessments to monitor child development and emotional wellbeing
- Collaborate with health and education partners to integrate MHPSS into early childhood services
- Document best practices, lessons learned, and contribute to project reporting
- Integrate the MHPSS and SEL interventions in the County Government Health functions
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in psychology, Early Childhood Development, Social Work, or related field (A Master’s degree will be an added advantage)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in child-focused MHPSS and SEL programming
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and play-based learning approaches
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Fluency in English and local languages is an asset

Position: Capacity Building Officer

Contract Type: Project-based, Full-time; Duration: 11 months

We’re looking for a dedicated Capacity Building Officer to champion local engagement and ensure that community voices influence every step of this journey.
Role Overview:
The Capacity Building Officer will design and deliver training programs to strengthen local capacity for ecosystem restoration and sustainable resource management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess training needs of community groups and project staff
- Develop tailored training materials and modules
- Facilitate workshops, field demonstrations, and peer learning sessions
- Support community mobilisation and leadership development
- Track capacity-building outcomes and prepare progress reports
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Agricultural Economy or Plant Science
- Minimum 3 years of experience in training and facilitation within development projects
- Proven ability to work with diverse groups and adapt training to local contexts
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills

Environment Officer
Position: Environment Officer

Contract Type: Project-based, Full-time; Duration: 11 months
Role Overview:
The Environment Officer will lead the technical implementation of ecosystem restoration activities, ensuring alignment with environmental standards and community needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and oversee restoration interventions, including reforestation, soil conservation, and water resource management
- Conduct environmental assessments and develop mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with local communities and stakeholders to promote sustainable practices
- Monitor ecological impact and report progress against environmental indicators
- Ensure compliance with national and donor environmental regulations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Natural Resource Management, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in ecosystem restoration or environmental projects
- Strong understanding of climate resilience and community-based conservation
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
